2017 Winter Fancy Food Show Review

I had the wonderful opportunity to attend the 2017 Winter Fancy Food Show in San Francisco on January 22, 2017.  The Fancy Food Show was held at the Moscone Center in San Francisco on 01/22/17-01/24/17.  Silly me for thinking attending for just one day would be enough!  But now I know for the next time I get this unique opportunity.  So read on to hear all about the show and to see all the fun pictures!

So I had never heard of this food show until Ashley from The Original Cannoli Chips company mentioned it to me.  I looked the show up and I was like yessssssssss!  The Fancy Food Show is the largest specialty food and beverage show on the west coast, where you can go and discover the hottest new products, producers and food trends.  Fun…well my kind of fun at least!  And it couldn’t have been more perfect, because the 2017 Winter Fancy Food Show was being held in San Francisco at the Moscone Center, which is just a two-hour trip from home!  Ashley was going to the Winter Fancy Food Show representing the Golden Canolli Company and their fabulous Original Cannoli Chips, and was able to get me a pass to attend the show since I blog for the The Original Cannoli Chips!  The Fancy Food Show is closed to the public and you have to be a member to attend.  So I was so excited, and grateful, to have the wonderful opportunity to experience the show!  Ashley was sweet enough to get an extra pass for James to come with me too 🙂

The Fancy Food Show is geared towards food and food-related product producers to show off their products and do some networking, in order to write sales (like to sell bulk product orders to grocery chains, etc).  You can’t actually buy anything from the exhibitors on site, but THEY ALL HAVE FREE SAMPLES for you to try!  Think Costco free sample days times a million billion quadrillion.  There were exhibitors from all over the country…the show on one side of the Moscone Center was divided by country, and I just loved hearing all the different languages being spoken and of course the unique products that each country produces.

Boy were James and I in food heaven walking around the show!  All the samples!  We ate our lunch in samples that day hehehe.  I did speak with a few exhibitors, that I felt had a unique product that would mesh well with my blog, to see about working together in the future.  I am hoping to receive some products from those companies, to showcase here on the blog and use in some fun, new recipes, that I know you guys would totally be interested in trying out too!  Fingers crossed that I can sample and blog about products from Peanut Butter & Co (I am thinking some amazing No Bake Cookies made using their products would be fabulous…I mean these cookies were, and still are, my top post on my blog!), LorAnn Oils (I love their emulsions and they have so many varieties I would love to try and share with you), Color Kitchen Foods (dye-free and gluten free food colors and sprinkles!  Yes! Yes! Yes!), sustainable Madagascar vanilla beans and extracts from Lafaza Foods (I am dying over their pure ground vanilla…why have I never seen this before??  Need!  Need!  Need!) and I talked to the owner of Vain Foods for quite awhile.  I wanted to take ALL their vanilla extracts home with me.  Vain Vanilla Extracts are paired with spirits to produce distinct flavors with distilled spirits—vodka, Kentucky bourbon, cane rum, apple brandy and so much more!  Smelling their extracts was like tasting heaven.  I am hoping they will send me some samples to bake with and share with y’all!  And all of their amazingness can be purchased online HERE.

There’s just a few of the samples that we didn’t eat.  Ok but really…my favorite is the cannoli ring Ashley gave me 🙂

I was excited to meet the ladies from My Cup of Cake!  Everything they produce is right up my alley: Chocolate Souffle Cake in a mug (made in under 3-minutes), edible chocolate candles (mind.blown) and so many other products made with Belgian chocolate as the focus.  Mmmm…chocolate.  I gave them my business card, and we talked for a few minutes about maybe letting me sample and blog about their products in the future.  I walked away, but could not get those edible chocolate candles off my mind!  I went back a few minutes later and asked My Cup of Cake if I could sample their candles for Ethan’s upcoming birthday party and they said yes!!  I am so excited (and will share fully in a separate post), and I hope to sample more of their products to share with you soon!  My Cup of Cake sells their products in select stores, but are also available for sale online…you gotta go check em out!

And of course…… The Original Cannoli Chips!  I loved getting to meet Ashley, who is just the sweetest and totally made me feel like part of the Cannoli family!  And their booth was PACKED!  So many people were interested in their Cannoli Chips…which doesn’t surprise me.  I have a feeling their Cannoli Chips are going to be HUGE.

Here’s me being super excited to be a part of all this.  I seriously love The Original Cannoli Chips…I am like sign me up, y’all need a west coast representative!  I’ll go hustle and get their chips in all the stores, so everyone can experience all their deliciousness!

Such a fun show!  I just have such a love for the people who are so creative to come up with so many innovative food ideas and then get their product to production and out to the masses.  Kind of like this blog is my “baby,” I know their businesses are their “babies.”  Just want to show all the love and support!  I hope you click around on the links above to support these businesses!  Support me by signing up for my free email subscription and following me on Instagram, Pinterest, Twitter and sharing my posts on Facebook.  Help me grow this blog!

The gold statues are Sofi Awards, which are a HUGE deal and high honor in the food biz!  Sooooo look to the right….that’s a real person….not a statue.  Hence why this picture caught me laughing.

A huge thanks to Ashley and everyone over at the Golden Cannoli Company for allowing me to attend the 2017 Winter Fancy Food Show as part of Golden Cannoli!!

XOXO,

Kelly
