The original and classic version of the seven layer bar. Or magic bar. Depends on what you know them as! Layers of butter, graham crackers, chocolate chips, butterscotch chips, pecans, sweetened condensed milk and coconut. How could you go wrong with that combo?! And they are super simple to make 🙂 You’re welcome….
I made this classic version of the Seven Layer Bars for our annual family Holiday Bake Exchange day! But because I can’t leave well enough alone, I also made a peanut butter Butterfinger version (I will share the recipe with you soon).
Classic Seven Layer Magic BarsPrint Recipe
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter
- 1-1/2 cups graham cracker crumbs
- 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 1 cup butterscotch chips
- 1 cup chopped pecans
- 1 (14-ounce) can sweetened condensed milk
- 1 cup shredded coconut
Preheat oven to 350-degrees. Line a 9 x 13-inch baking pan with foil and spray with cooking spray. Set aside. In a microwave safe bowl, melt the butter. Pour melted butter into the 9 X 13-inch pan and spread butter so it covers the entire pan. Spread graham cracker crumbs evenly in the pan. Layer chocolate chips, butterscotch chips and pecans over the graham cracker crumbs (evenly dispersing each layer). Pour sweetened condensed milk evenly over the top of all the layers. Sprinkle shredded coconut over the sweetened condensed milk.
Bake in 350-degree oven for 25-minutes or until edges are golden brown. Let bars set completely before cutting into desired sized squares.
Store bars in an air tight container at room temperature.
