French Toast Marshmallow Treats

Print Recipe
Serves: 30 Cooking Time: 2-minutes

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup salted butter
  • 1 (16-ounce) bag mini marshmallows, divided
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 3 teaspoons maple extract
  • 1/3 cup white chocolate chips
  • 7 cups French Toast Crunch cereal

Instructions

1

Line a 9x13-inch baking dish with foil or parchment paper and spray the bottom and sides of the pan with baking spray. Set aside.

2

In a medium sized pot, on the stovetop, add the butter. Melt butter over medium-high heat. Once butter is melted, add the bag of marshmallows to the butter, reserving a 1/2 cup of marshmallows. Melt the marshmallows over medium-high heat, stirring occasionally. Once marshmallows are completely melted, remove the pot from the stove top.

3

Immediately stir in the vanilla extract, maple extract and white chocolate chips into the melted marshmallow mixture. Stir until mostly incorporated.

4

Add the cereal to the marshmallow mixture, one cup at a time, stirring each cup into the mixture fully before adding the additional cups. After the cereal has been added, stir in the 1/2 cup of marshmallows reserved from the bag, into the treats (those marshmallows should melt a little, but stay mostly whole).

5

Pour mixture into prepared pan and gently press mixture into an even layer in the pan. Let treats cool completely before cutting into desired sized squares.

Notes

Store treats in an airtight container at room temperature. Treats stay fresh for several days.

XOXO,

Kelly

Cheerios is my favorite cold cereal because I’m boring :). I’ve never had French toast crunch and I feel like I’ve been missing out! These look absolutely amazing, especially with that maple glaze. YUM! Have a great rest of your day, Kelly!

Your french toast crunch marshmallow treats look pretty yummy. I do believe that I will have to add the maple glaze and probably even the sprinkles. I love the taste of french toast and as a dessert sounds even better!

when french toast crunch came back a few years ago, i was so hyped. those mini toast shapes are too cute, and that maple-y flavor is so nostalgic of that fake maple syrup lol. they used to make treats like this with all sorts of cereal at my dining hall, but this one sounds so much better (and doesn’t have brightly colored food dye bleeding into the marshmallows).

Thanks Heather! This was totally one of my favorite cereals. And how cool is it that your dining hall used to make a bunch of different cereal treats?! I know what I would be snacking on hehehe. XOXO πŸ™‚

I love cereal but I don’t eat it much any more. I totally need to get a box of French Toast Crunch – I haven’t had it in years.
