Frosted Flakes Marshmallow Treat Bars

Frosted Flakes and just four other ingredients (butter, marshmallows, white chocolate and vanilla extract) are all you need to make this quick and easy cereal treat!

I found Cinnamon Frosted Flakes at Wal-Mart, but you could use the regular Frosted Flakes for this recipe too, if you can’t find the cinnamon variety.

You make these marshmallow treat bars just like all other marshmallow treats!  Melt the butter and marshmallows on the stovetop:

Frosted Flakes Marshmallow Treat Bars

Print Recipe
Serves: 30 Cooking Time: 5-minutes

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup salted butter
  • 1 (16-ounce) bag mini marshmallows, divided (about 8 cups total)
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/4 cup white chocolate chips
  • 8 cups Frosted Flakes cereal (I used Cinnamon Frosted Flakes)

Instructions

1

Line a 9x13-inch baking dish with foil or parchment paper and spray with baking spray. Set aside.

2

Place a large pot on the stovetop and on medium heat, melt the butter. Once butter has melted completely, measure out seven cups of mini marshmallows (you should still have about 1 cup of marshmallows left in the bag---save those for the end!) and add the mini marshmallows to the melted butter. Stir the marshmallows and butter continuously, until all of the marshmallows have completely melted.

3

Once all the marshmallows have melted, remove the pot from the stovetop and stir in the vanilla extract. Add the white chocolate chips to the marshmallow mixture and stir the chips until they are mostly melted into the mixture. Add the Frosted Flakes to the marshmallow mixture, one cup at a time, making sure each cup is fully mixed into the marshmallow mixture before adding the next cup. When adding the last cup of Frosted Flakes, add the remaining mini marshmallows from the bag, into the mixture. Stir until combined. The mini marshmallows added at the end won't melt completely, which makes for a chewy, marshmallow-y treat!

4

Pour mixture out into prepared baking pan and gently use your hands or rubber scraper to gently distribute the mixture evenly into the pan. If I use my hands, I will spray my hands with baking spray so my fingers don't stick to the mixture.

5

Let bars sit at room temperature for 1-2 hours to cool completely, before slicing into desired sized slices.

Notes

Store in an airtight container at room temperature.

No-bake, easy, 5 ingredients, easy, yummy, easy…. and they’re grrrrreeeeeeeeeeaaaaattt!

XOXO,

Kelly

That is a great secret kelly! I’m not a huge white chocolate fan as well, but sounds delicious with melted marshmallows and cinnamon cereal.

Thanks Maria! I made these while my husband was at work and dropped them off to him when I was on my way to my friends house. He texted me a few minutes later telling me they were the best marshmallow treats EVER! So I asked him if he could tell I put white chocolate in them and he said no! So you can’t even detect the taste of the white chocolate, but get the added benefits of it being gooey and decadent! XOXO 🙂

So I have to ask “are you my child”? Neither dad’s nor my brain works like yours . . . if I actually did any grocery shopping (lucky me your dad does it all) I would only see breakfast food and of course Tony the Tiger 🙂 Lucky for James, the firehouse and the whole family you have this “gift” that helps you see food in a completely different way than the rest of us! . . . . xoxoxo love you sweetheart xoxoxo . . . keep up all the creativity and we’ll all just keep enjoying being your taste testers!

I’m not a big cereal eater, but I had a box of the pumpkin spice Frosted Flakes laying around that expires this month, so I figured I’d try this recipe.
Let me tell you, these turned out sooo good! I would’ve never thought of adding white chocolate to the marshmallow mixture. Definitely the key ingredient! I mean, I’ve made cereal bars before (without white chocolate) and they never tasted as good as the store bought General Mills bars.
These however, were incredible!! Thank you!

AWESOME!! I am so excited you tried these and loved them! White chocolate really is that secret ingredient that makes these treats divine. I have been wanting to try this recipe with the other varieties of Frosted Flakes too. Thanks for leaving me a comment….made my night!! 🙂 XOXO
