Reese’s Peanut Butter No Bake Pie

Reese’s Peanut Butter No Bake Pie is really like a Reese’s Peanut Butter Cup, but in pie form!  A Peanut Butter Oreo crust, a layer of hot fudge sundae sauce covering the crust, filled with a creamy no-bake peanut butter filling and then topped with chunks of peanut butter cups.  If you are looking for a rich and decadent dessert, that is also easy to make, then you have come to the right place!  And at the bottom of the post, I am announcing the winners of the GIVEAWAY that was on the blog last week!

Something this rich and decadent really shouldn’t be this easy to make.  But it is.  And I am sharing it with you.  Because we are friends.

So…one of our friends texted me, asking if I could make a last minute birthday dessert for her husband’s birthday.  Anything rich and decadent, and the more decadent the better.  Well Brandy definitely came to the right person!  The ultimate Reese’s Peanut Butter No Bake Pie to celebrate Jeremy’s birthday…and it did not disappoint!

If we are making a peanut butter and chocolate pie, then our Oreo crust should totally be made with Peanut Butter Oreo’s….right?!!!

Now you have the option to make this recipe completely no bake, and just put your Oreo crust in the freezer to set, or you can bake it like I did for a few minutes. Baking the Oreo crust gives the crust a little more crunch.

After the Oreo crust has cooled (or set, if you chose the no bake option), spread on a heaping layer of fudge sundae sauce.

And now you are ready to whip up your peanut butter filling!  So easy!!

Reese's Peanut Butter No Bake Pie

Serves: 12 Cooking Time: 0-minutes

Ingredients

  • CRUST:
  • 1 (15.25-ounce) package Peanut Butter Oreos
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • FUDGE LAYER:
  • 1/3 cup hot fudge sundae sauce
  • PEANUT BUTTER FILLING:
  • 1/2 cup creamy peanut butter
  • 1/2 cup chocolate peanut butter (I used Peanut Butter & Co Dark Chocolate Dreams)
  • 1 (8-ounce) package cream cheese, room temperature
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract (I used Ballard Extracts Chocolate Extract)
  • 1-1/4 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 (8-ounce) container of whipped topping (Cool Whip), thawed
  • TOPPING:
  • 20 mini Reese's Peanut Butter Cups, chopped

Instructions

1

CRUST: Spray a 9-inch pie tin with baking spray (I used a deep dish pie tin, but a regular tin works fine). Preheat oven to 350-degrees, if you want to bake your crust for a crunchier crust.

2

Crush the entire package of Oreo cookies to fine crumbs (use the food processor or put the cookies in a ziplock bag and smash). Put the butter in a bowl and melt in the microwave. Add the cookie crumbs to the melted butter and stir with a fork until both ingredients are fully combined. Dump crumbs into the pie tin and work the crumbs so they are in an even layer covering the sides and the bottom of the pie tin.

3

Bake in 350-degree oven for 8-minutes. Remove from oven and set on a wire rack to cool completely before adding the fudge layer and peanut butter filling.

4

If not baking the crust, place crust in the freezer to set for 1-2 hours.

5

FUDGE LAYER: Use a spoon to add the layer of fudge sundae sauce over the entire top of the Oreo cookie crust.

6

PEANUT BUTTER FILLING: In the bowl of a stand mixer, affixed with the paddle attachment, add the cream cheese and beat on medium-high speed until creamy. Add the peanut butters to the cream cheese and mix until smooth. Add the vanilla extract and powdered sugar to the mixture and mix until smooth and creamy and all ingredients are fully incorporated.

7

Remove the bowl from the mixer and fold in the entire container of Cool Whip to the peanut butter mixture. Mix until all ingredients are fully incorporated and then pour mixture into the pie tin.

8

TOPPING: Chop up the Reese's Peanut Butter Cups. Sprinkle the PB Cups generously over the pie, covering the top of the peanut butter filling.

9

Place pie in the refrigerator to set. Once set, cover the pie with plastic wrap and store in the refrigerator until ready to serve.

10

Option to store the pie in the freezer for a firmer texture.

Notes

Option to use regular peanut butter instead of using the chocolate peanut butter.

Now you could just leave your pie plain, but what is the fun in that?  Go big or go home!!

Now grab some friends, and some milk, and enjoy some pie!

What’s your favorite birthday treat??  I am a cookie girl, so I usually make myself a nice thick cookie cake.  Mmmmmm.

XOXO,

Kelly

Unfortunately Reese’s products are rare and (very) expensive here in France, which is very frustrating :/ But maybe I’ll try and adapt this recipe!

Hi Lithenna! You could totally adapt this recipe. The pie itself will give you that Reese’s flavor. Just find a similar candy to put on top. Anything chocolate will work! It doesn’t have to be Reese’s PB cups. I hope to go to France someday…I would be interested to see how different the candy is there!

Yes, I think I’ll try something to do with this tasty recipe! thank you!
Each time I travel abroad, I like to explore grocery stores and supermarkets, just because I’m curious about the eating habits in other countries (and also because I want to discover new candy and eventually taste it!)

My husband LOVES peanut butter pie, it’s his favorite dessert I make him. I’ve made it using an Oreo crust before, but never peanut butter Oreos! I must check and see if I can find them at the store. PINed it 🙂
