Boo Baskets have been all the rage for the past couple of years, so this year I decided to create two for my tween-aged nieces and one for my college freshman. This post will give you some cheap, simple and fun ideas for items to add to your Boo Baskets (that aren’t just candy).
I made dog themed Boo Baskets for my nieces, ages 10 and 12. They each have their own fur baby (a Pug and Boston Terrier), so that is what I themed their baskets around.
Everything I bough came from either Amazon or The Dollar Tree, making these fairly affordable.
FROM AMAZON:
- Each got a Halloween t-shirt with their dog on it
- A package of Halloween beaded bracelets (split a package of six between both baskets)
- Spooky socks (split a two pack between both baskets)
- Pug stickers for the Pug basket
- A Labubu Halloween outfit for my 10-year old nieces basket
FROM DOLLAR TREE (one of the below for each basket):
- 2 Pumpkin Halloween buckets
- 2 dog treats
- 2 squishy flying toys (impulse buy while in line at the cash register)
- 2 packages Halloween Peeps
- 2 packages neon bracelets and necklaces
I just stuffed the bottoms with tissue paper and arranged the items in each basket:
For my 18-year old college freshman son, I made him a Boo Bag using one of my Gucci canvas totes that I get whenever I make a purchase from Gucci. So the tote was free and I have a ton of them. My son isn’t into candy and eats healthy, so I went with more practical items that I knew he could use while living the dorm life at college.
FROM WAL-MART:
- Baconator flavor Cheez-It’s
- Microwave Pop-Corn
- Beef Jerky
- PainQuil Day and Night (he plays college football)
- Zicam cold shortening gummies
- Nose moisturizing spray (dry winters out here equal bloody noses)
- A couple pieces of fun size Halloween candies
I just added the items simply into the Gucci tote and added a few pieces of tissue paper:
These bags or baskets are easily customizable for your special persons favorite hobby, sport, etc.
For football add their favorite team shirt, team stickers, socks, a football. It all depends on the age of the person and what they like.
For an adult or older teen, choose make-up, a cute hoody, stickers, fun Halloween socks, hair accessories. Gift certificate to their favorite coffee shop. Endless options!
