Oatmeal Raisin Power Balls

I love these little power balls!  So easy to make, no bake, made with wholesome ingredients and totally portable for those on-the-run afternoon snacks.  I had some leftover raisins from when I made The BEST Oatmeal Raisin cookies, so I have been trying to use my stash of raisins up while they are still plump and juicy.  These are like the healthier version of my oatmeal raisin cookies. No weird ingredients in these either.

Just six ingredients and 5-minutes to make.  And healthy. In case you missed them, make sure you check out my Protein Powder PB Poppers and my Healthy Peanut Butter Powder Poppers recipes.

Oatmeal Raisin Power Balls

Print Recipe
Serves: 15-20 Cooking Time: 0-minutes

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup peanut butter
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 3/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • pinch of salt
  • 1 cup old fashioned oats
  • 1/4 cup fresh raisins (or mini chocolate chips)

Instructions

1

Dump the peanut butter in a medium-sized microwave safe bowl. Microwave peanut butter for approximately 35-seconds (or until it gets a little melty). Remove from microwave and stir in the honey, vanilla extract, cinnamon and salt. Stir until all ingredients are completely combined. Add the oats and raisins to the mixture and stir until all ingredients are well incorporated.

2

Place a piece of parchment paper on a cookie sheet (for easy clean up) and scoop tablespoon sized balls onto the cookie sheet. Place cookie sheet in the refrigerator to allow the balls to completely chill.

3

Once balls are set and cold, place in an airtight container and store in the refrigerator.

Notes

If you balls are too wet, then add additional oats until mixture is to a rollable form. If your mixture is too dry, add additional honey until you reach your desired consistency.

Maybe you don’t like raisins?  Well switch them out with chocolate chips!

I love how simple and easy these are. Who doesn’t love oatmeal and raisins? But I feel like the peanut butter in these makes me think of peanut butter cookies. And the combo just sounds so appetizing!

Thank you Stacy! I wasn’t sure about the peanut butter in these, but it totally works! You could even use almond butter for a lighter flavor! Just add a bit more oatmeal if your almond butter is runny. The peanut butter I used was thick! Xoxo 😘

I tried the recipe yesterday and it was delicious! I loved it! And since I like to experiment a bit, I replaced the peanut butter with something we have here called speculoos spread (speculoos are little biscuits from Belgium and they’re very popular). Thanks a lot for the recipe!

Yum! Poppables! 🙂 Kelly, I did my ancestry research on my mom and dad’s side. It was so much fun, I am still doing it through ancestry, and actually did the DNA test. I was so surprised that a large percentage was from Greece, but that’s the part of the puzzle that’s missing on mine. The biggest percentage was England, which makes sense because my mom’s surname is Blackford, and they came over on the actual Mayflower. It’s cool to find out new clues!

How fun!! I think you should totally go to Greece! And that’s pretty cool to see family that came over on the Mayflower. That history is just so exciting to me….to see how our ancestors got here and where they lived. It’s so interesting!! You will have to keep me posted on what else you find out! Maybe we should both do blog posts about a traditional dessert from our home countries!! Xoxo

Ditch the raisins and I would have LOVEDDDD these when I was little. I am so not a dried fruit person. I prefer it plum and ripe and juicy, ha ha! Whenever I would eat oatmeal raisin cookies when I was a kid, I would pick out all of the raisins! lol
