Red Velvet Oreo cookies made using red velvet cake mix, cream cheese, crushed up Oreo cookies and white chocolate chips.
These cookies are so easy to make because we are using a box of cake mix to make the dough. Just the dry cake mix though. Follow the recipe below to make the cookies. These bake up so soft and have the perfect cocoa flavor.
When making cake mix cookies, make sure you are buying the box with the ounces listed in the recipe. Cake mixes come in different ounce sized boxes.
Red Velvet Oreo Cookies
Print RecipeIngredients
- 1 (8-ounce) block full fat cream cheese, room temperature
- 6 tablespoons unsalted butter, room temperature
- 1 egg, room temperature
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract (I used Rodelle Bakers Extract
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 (13.25 ounce) box red velvet cake mix - we are only using the dry mix
- 10 whole Oreo cookies, broken into chunks
- 1/2 cup white chocolate chips (you can omit or substitute with semi sweet chocolate)
Instructions
In the bowl of a stand mixer, affixed with the paddle attachment, cream together the cream cheese and butter until creamy. Add egg, vanilla extract and salt and mix until combined.
Turn mixer to low speed and add the entire package of dry cake mix. Mix until just combined.
Remove bowl from mixer and gently fold in the Oreo chunks and chocolate chips and mix until all ingredients are combined.
Pour dough onto plastic wrap, tightly cover, and refrigerate overnight.
Once chilled, preheat oven to 350-degrees. Line two baking sheets with parchment paper. Use a standard sized cookie scoop to scoop cookie dough balls.
Place cookie dough on prepared cookie sheets and bake 10-12 minutes in 350-degree oven. I like a soft cookie, but you can bake for an additional 2-3 minutes if you prefer a less soft cookie. Allow cookies to set and cool for 10-minutes on the pan before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
Notes
Store in an airtight container at room temperature. Cookies will stay fresh for several days.
