Marshmallow treats made using the limited edition Stranger Things Demogorgon Crunch cereal. The cereal is basically maple flavored honeycomb cereal with the addition of Stranger Things themed upside down marshmallows. A fun treat to eat while watching the new season of Stranger Things!
If you can’t find this cereal (I got mine at Target), you can use regular honeycomb cereal. If you really like maple flavor, then add an additional 1/2 teaspoon of maple extract when mixing if using regular honeycomb cereal.
Stranger Things Demogorgon Crunch Cereal Treats

- 1/2 cup unsalted butter
- 1 (16-ounce bag) mini marshmallows, divided
- 1/3 cup white chocolate chips
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract (I used Rodelle Baker's Extract)
- 1-1/2 teaspoons maple extract
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 6 cups Stranger Things Demogorgon Crunch cereal (or Honeycomb cereal)
- 2 cups crispy rice cereal
- Sprinkles (optional)
Instructions
Line a 9x13-inch pan with foil and spray the oil bottom and sides with baking spray and set aside. In a large pot, on the stovetop over medium heat, melt the butter. Once the butter has melted, add the marshmallows, reserving 1/2 cup of marshmallows for later. Stir the mixture until the marshmallows are completely melted. Remove from the stove.
Immediately stir in the white chocolate chips, vanilla extract, maple extract and salt. Stir until the white chocolate chips are mostly melted and the ingredients are combined. Stir in the Honeycomb cereal and crispy rice cereal one cup at a time. If you like gooey cereal treats, then do not add as much of the rice crispies.
Fold in the remaining 1/2 cup of mini marshmallows.
Pour the mixture into the pan and press gently into an even layer and adding the optional sprinkles. Pressing too hard into the pan will make the treats hard, so just gently spread into the pan.
Allow treats to set and cool in the pan before cutting into squares.
Notes
Store in an airtight container at room temperature. Treats stay fresh for several days.
