Serves: 12 Cooking Time: 23-28 minutes

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter
  • 1 cup chocolate chips
  • 3/4 cup white granulated sugar
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract (I used Rodelle Baker's Extract)
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 3 eggs, room temperature
  • 1/4 cup cocoa powder (I used Rodelle Gourmet Cocoa Powder)

Instructions

1

Preheat oven to 350-degrees. Line an 8x8-inch baking pan with parchment paper and spray the sides and bottom with baking spray. Set aside.

2

In a microwave safe bowl, add the butter and chocolate chips. Place bowl in the microwave and microwave in 15-second increments, stopping to stir the mixture every 15-seconds to prevent scorching. Microwave until the chocolate chips and butter are completely melted, approximately 1-minute.

3

Remove the bowl from the microwave and stir in the sugar, vanilla extract and salt. Stir in the eggs, one at a time. Stir in the cocoa powder and continue stirring until mixture is smooth and glossy.

4

Pour brownie batter evenly in prepared pan and bake in 350-degree oven for 23-28 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the middle comes out without raw batter on it. Baking time varies due to size and type of pan used. Do not over bake.

Notes

Let brownies cool and set completely before cutting into desired sized squares. Store at room temperature.
