Golden Grahams Marshmallow Treats

Golden Grahams cereal turned into the ultimate cereal treat, because of the addition of marshmallows and butterscotch chips.  A quick and easy no bake dessert, using my FAVORITE cereal.

If you want to make these treats taste more like s’mores, then use chocolate chips instead of the butterscotch chips.  Just add the chocolate chips at the very end so they don’t all completely melt.  Not a fan of butterscotch chips and don’t want to use chocolate chips?  Then make sure to at least add white chocolate chips instead.  It adds a nice richness to these treats!

Golden Grahams Marshmallow Treats

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter
  • 8 cups mini marshmallows (16-ounce bag), divided
  • 1/3 cup butterscotch chips (or chocolate chips or white chocolate chips)
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract (I used Rodelle Baker's Extract)
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 8 cups Golden Grahams cereal

Instructions

Line a 9x13-inch baking pan with foil and spray with baking spray. Set aside.

In a large pot, on the stovetop over medium-high heat, melt the butter. Once melted, add 7 cups of mini marshmallows. Stir the mixture until the marshmallows are completely melted. Remove the pot from the stove and stir in the butterscotch chips, vanilla extract and salt. Stir in the Golden Grahams one cup at a time. When adding the last cup of cereal, stir in the remaining cup of marshmallows.

Pour mixture out into prepared pan and option to press any leftover cookie pieces on top and sprinkle with additional ground cinnamon. Let bars cool and set completely before cutting into desired sized squares.

Notes

Store in an airtight container at room temperature. Treats stay fresh for 5-7 days.
