Malted Milk Chocolate Chip Cookies

Classic chocolate chip cookies get the addition of malted milk powder, to give these cookies a warm, rich taste, that is like nothing else!  A fun twist on the classic chocolate chip cookie.

Malted milk powder can be found by the dried milk or in the baking aisle.  If your store doesn’t carry it, you can always go to good ol’ Amazon!  After searching and searching all my local stores for malted milk powder, I ended up ordering it off Amazon.  And then later finally found it at my local Smart & Final.  But however you get your hands on this malted milk, I promise you it is worth it!

Serves: 17 cookies Cooking Time: 9-11 minutes

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, room temperature
  • 2/3 cup light brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup white sugar
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract (I used Rodelle Baker's Extract)
  • 2 egg yolks
  • 1-1/3 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 tablespoons malted milk powder
  • 1/8 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1-1/2 teaspoons cornstarch
  • 2/3 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips

Instructions

1

Preheat oven to 350-degrees and line a large cookie sheet with parchment paper and set aside.

2

In a large bowl mix together the butter, brown sugar, white sugar and vanilla extract. Mix until combined. Stir in the egg yolks. Stir in the flour, malted milk, nutmeg, baking soda, salt and cornstarch and mix until just combined. Fold in the chocolate chips.

3

Use a standard sized cookie scoop to scoop cookie dough balls onto prepared cookie sheet. Leave a few inches between the dough balls. Bake cookies in 350-degrees for 9-12 minutes, depending on your desired cookie doneness.

4

Let cookies set on cookie sheet for 5-minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

Store cookies in an airtight container at room temperature. Cookies stay fresh for 1 week.

XOXO,

Kelly
