Chocolate Protein Powder Peanut Butter Poppers are another easy, healthy treat, perfect for an after workout snack or a little afternoon pick-me-up! Did you guys try my Healthy Peanut Butter Powder Poppers yet?? Todays recipe is similar to my Peanut Butter Powder Poppers, except this recipe uses protein powder instead of the powdered peanut butter. So my gym rats out there— this one is for you!! I guarantee your protein powder will taste wayyyyyyy better in these poppers than in some protein shake 😉 Plus these are easy to make, healthy and only require a few ingredients!
I have been in kind of a funk this week…it’s just been one of those weeks, you know? A friend of mine got upset with me (over what I have no idea) and completely stopped talking to me, unsubscribed from my blog, and unfollowed me on social media, which left me kind of bummed and just not in a good mood. I have tried talking to her and apologizing for whatever inadvertent thing I did to hurt her feelings, but it’s kind of hard to fix things, if they won’t even respond back to you. Dead silence. I would never hurt someones feelings on purpose, so I was just trying to make it right with her. But nothing more I can really do I guess.
So when I am feeling bummed, working out usually helps to get me in a better mood (those endorphins!), so I have been trying to hit the gym just to help my mood out. The gym, Target, the Hallmark Store and baking are my go-to’s for when I am in a bad mood and need to snap out of it! So I hit ALL of those this week hehehe 😉 What do you do to get out of a bad mood???
Okay, back to protein poppers! It’s all about balance, so besides my over-the-top decadent desserts, I am trying to throw in a few healthy treats for you to make too. I used chocolate protein powder to make these babies, but use whatever protein powder you love. Vanilla, peanut butter or chocolate flavored protein powder would all work well in this recipe. But any flavor protein powder that goes with peanut butter will do!
This is the protein I used:
This recipe is no bake, uses one bowl, a handful of ingredients and is ready in minutes!
Protein Powder PB Poppers
Print RecipeIngredients
- 1/2 cup creamy peanut butter
- 1/2 cup old fashioned whole oats
- 1/2 cup proptein powder (I used chocolate flavor)
- 2 tablespoons honey
- 1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/8 teaspoon ground cinnamon
Instructions
In a medium sized bowl, add the peanut butter, oats, protein powder, honey, vanilla extract and cinnamon. Stir until all ingredients are well combined. Use a tablespoon to scoop the mixture into balls and place the poppers in the refrigerator to set.
Notes
Store poppers in the refrigerator, in an airtight container. Poppers stay fresh for several days.
Don’t they just look yummy??
My pretty bowl is courtesy of Sweese! I love their bowls and their classic design and functionality (dishwasher safe and microwave safe). You can buy their products online at Amazon too!
But really…y’all just need to go make these protein poppers! So yum!
And don’t forget about my other healthy poppers! THESE are just as yummy, but don’t have protein powder in them, in case you are looking for a healthy popper recipe without protein powder 🙂 And on a side note, you can replace the peanut butter used in both of my popper recipes with the nut butter or your choice. If your nut butter is runnier than the creamy Skippy peanut butter I used, then you may need to add more oats to get the poppers to the proper consistency for rolling into balls.
I packaged these poppers in a ziplock baggie and brought them to the gym for Chad….this is the text message I got from him after he was done working out 🙂
There ya go! Proof right there that these babies are da bomb!

February 11, 2017 at 10:05 PMTried and true! We made these little bites of amazingness today because I just couldn’t wait to try them. Can’t believe how simple and easy it was.👌🏼 Definitely going to be adding these to my meal plan, especially when headed to work. We used vanilla protein and quick oats, and they were tasty!-I just didn’t feel like going to the store for true oats. Can’t wait to make it with chocolate protein next…I’m sure James has some that he can spare 😜

February 16, 2017 at 3:02 PMWill try this recipe this weekend. Sorry to hear about your “friend” situation. If she hasn’t responded then better to let the friendship end. As hard as it is & as much as it hurts, hope you can find a way to let it go. Better to appreciate the people who are in your life.
