The Best Two Ways to Organize Your Sweet Treat Recipes

Ahhh….sweet treats.  Preparing and baking your own cakes and delicious desserts for you and your family might just be one of the best things in the world. Although the initial part of finding a recipe that suits our mood and taste buds can become quite frustrating after a while. Yet despite this, most of us tend to persist with foraging through pages and pages of cookbooks, online cooking websites, scraps and cut-outs of recipes either passed down or torn from magazines for a glimmer of something that strikes our fancy. More to the point, the hunt for a recipe can be time-consuming, and a bit frustrating. So it’s time we got a bit organized, don’t you think? Below are two tried and tested ways that desert makers can organize their special recipes and save the hassle of having to find them ever again.

Google Drive

We’ve all heard of (and probably even use) google docs, but most of us probably haven’t thought to use it for our recipes. Here are a few reasons why you should definitely consider it as a contender for sorting out your recipe collection.

First of all, your recipes shall be stored in the cloud, meaning wherever you are in the world, you can access your dessert recipes whenever you have a wi-fi connection. So whether you’re staying at your aunts’ for the holidays, or want to show off your culinary skills at your other halves home, Google drive has you covered.

Using this application also means that you can share your recipes easily too! If your mom adores your delicious keto brownie bites or pumpkin pie fudge cake, you don’t need to write down the formula. You can simply share the doc with them by using their email address to give them access. Plus you can both add comments on the document of tweaks you’ve made to!

In a Ring Binder

So you may have been expecting another tech type solution to your recipe problem, but actually, there’s a good reason for suggesting that paper form is still where recipes are best kept.

For instance, if your recipes are on a PC, it could get attacked by cybercriminals or viruses that could destroy your trail of hard-earned sweet treat recipes. Although you can set up antivirus programs for your mac or laptop with help from sites such as https://setapp.com/how-to/antivirus-tips-for-mac. However, until you do so, your devices remain vulnerable.

By printing or writing your recipes down you’ll have a back-up book. Plus if anyone were to break into your home, although your recipe book is basically gold to you, but others won’t be as interested in taking it (their loss in comparison to your MacBook). And we know what you’re thinking about paper recipes being destroyed by splashes and food smudges. The solution to this is simple: ring binders and plastic sleeves to slot recipes into. If you’re feeling really fancy, you could laminate each recipe too.

There’s no need to store your recipes in multiple places or rack your brain every other day trying to find the one you’re looking for. By using either Google docs or a ring binder of sleeved recipes, you can organize everything in one place with ease.

XOXO,

Kelly
