Beer Bread (SUPER EASY!)

Super easy beer bread, no yeast or kneading required!  Mix together your favorite beer and a few pantry staples, and in 45-minutes, you have the most amazing homemade bread.  The yeast in the beer does all the work for us in this recipe, which takes ohhhhh about 5-minutes to mix up.  And smells so good while it bakes up!

My momma recently retired, joining my dad in retired life.  I was pretty excited about this because there’s nothing I love more than spending time with my momma and daddy.  And then my parents bought a fifth-wheel travel trailer and told my sister and I that they were leaving for Canada and Alaska for over three months!!  How was I supposed to survive three whole months without my parents?!  Yes I am in my 30’s and live an hour away from them….but knowing they are only an hour away whenever I need mom-dot lunch dates or time chatting with my dad up on the phone, has always been comforting.  Luckily I survived and my parents are home now.  And they brought us beer from Alaska!

Well actually this beer was for James (I got maple syrup straight from Canada!!!), but I snuck one of his beers while he wasn’t home, so I could make this bread.  So. So. GOOD!  And because the bread is baked (duh) the alcohol is cooked out of it, making it totally okay for the kiddos.  One bowl and one beer…use your favorite style of beer.  I used a white ale with spices.

Beer Bread

Print Recipe
Serves: 15 slices Cooking Time: 45-minutes

Ingredients

  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1-1/2 tablespoons baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 tablespoons white granulated sugar
  • 12-ounces beer, room temperature
  • 4 tablespoons butter, melted and cooled

Instructions

1

Preheat oven to 375-degrees and line a glass (preferably) loaf pan with parchment paper and spray the sides and bottoms with baking spray and set aside. In a small bowl melt the butter and set on the counter to cool while you make the dough.

2

In a large bowl whisk together the flour, baking powder, salt and sugar. Once combined, use a wooden spoon to mix in the beer. Pour dough out into prepared loaf pan. Pour the melted and cooled butter over the top of the bread dough, covering the dough completely.

3

Bake bread in 375-degree oven for 45-minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the middle comes out without raw batter on it. Remove bread from the oven and allow to cool and set in the pan for 15-minutes, before removing and transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

Store bread at room temperature in an air tight container.

Fresh from the oven….all warm with that buttery top. Mmmmmm.

This bread almost reminded me of the texture of a biscuit!  Perfect with a nice egg and bacon breakfast.

This bread is so dangerously easy to make….which could be a good or bad thing depending on how much you love carbs!  I hope you make this easy bread!  Leave a comment if you do.

XOXO,

Kelly
