English Muffin Pizzas

English muffins are the “pizza crust” that are slathered with pizza sauce, cheeses and spices, topped with your favorite pizza toppings and then baked in the oven.  These English Muffin Pizzas are an easy-to-make appetizer that is sure to please a crowd.  Plus these pizzas can be enjoyed hot or cold!

These pizzas are so easy to make and FUN to put together!  Grab the kids and have them help out in the kitchen!  Just get all your ingredients set out on the counter and have each person make their own.

And make sure you pre-bake the english muffins before adding your pizza sauce and toppings.  This prevents any soggy bottoms!

English Mushroom Pizzas

Print Recipe
Serves: 12 Cooking Time: 20-minutes

Ingredients

  • 6 english muffins, halved
  • 1 (14-ounce) jar pizza sauce
  • 3 tablespoons parmesan cheese
  • 1-2 teaspoons Italian seasoning
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 (8-ounce) package shredded mozzarella cheese
  • TOPPINGS:
  • Pepperoni, mushrooms, olives, ham, sausage, etc

Instructions

1

Turn oven on the high broil setting or 450-degrees. Line a large, rimmed baking pan with foil. Place the english muffins halves on the baking pan, so the bottoms are on the bottom of the pan. Toast the english muffins until golden brown and crisp, approximately 6-7 minutes depending on your oven. DO NOT WALK AWAY while the english muffins are toasting! Once toasted, remove the english muffins from the oven and reduce the heat of the oven to 350-degrees.

2

Top each toasted english muffin with a tablespoon of pizza sauce, a sprinkle of parmesan cheese, a sprinkle of Italian seasoning and garlic powder (depending on your taste preferences), 2-3 tablespoons shredded mozzarella cheese, 5-6 chunks of Frick's Gourmet Ham and 4-5 sliced mushrooms.

3

Bake pizzas in 350-degree oven for 13-15 minutes, or until cheese is melted. Serve hot or cold.

Notes

Leftovers are best re-heated in the oven at 350-degrees for 7-minutes and then under the broiler on high for 2-3 minutes, or until cheese is gooey.

You can serve these pizzas whole as appetizers, or cut them into fours and stick a toothpick in them for a one-bite appetizer.  The best part about this appetizer is that it doesn’t matter whether these are served hot, warm or cold….they are good all three ways.  So no more stressing at your next party about keeping the appetizers hot.

XOXO,

Kelly
