NO!  The answer is NO!  But that’s why you love me (unless your name is Gillian, then you only love me for my brownies).

I am so in love with the new Peanut Butter Chex cereal!!  It shouldn’t surprise you that I have several varieties of Chex cereal in my my pantry.  So I added some Chocolate Chex into these treats too.  Because Chocolate + Peanut Butter = ♥

Just goes to show you that you can do sooooo much more with Chex cereal than just Muddy Buddies! But now that I said that, I want Muddy Buddies.  Stay tuned hahaha.

Peanut Butter Chocolate Chex Treats

Print Recipe
Serves: 20 Cooking Time: 4-minutes

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter
  • 1 (16-ounce) bag mini marshmallows, divided
  • 1/4 cup white chocolate chips
  • 1/2 cup crunchy peanut butter
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract (I used Rodelle Gourmet Vanilla)
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 3 cups Peanut Butter Chex
  • 3 cups Chocolate Chex
  • 1/4 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips

Instructions

1

Line a 9x13-inch pan with foil and spray the bottom and sides with baking spray.

2

In a large pot on the stovetop, over medium heat, melt the butter. Once melted, add the marshmallows, reserving 1/2 cup of the marshmallows. Stir until the marshmallows are melted.

3

Remove from the stovetop and stir in the white chocolate chips, peanut butter, vanilla extract and salt. Stir until completely combined. Add the Peanut Butter Chex and Chocolate Chex, one cup at a time, completely stirring each cup into the mixture before adding the next cup. Stir in the remaining 1/2 cup marshmallows and 1/4 cup chocolate chips.

4

Pour mixture into prepared pan, spreading the mixture into an even layer. Top with the chocolate chips. Let treats set for 1-2 hours before cutting into desired sized squares.

Notes

Store at room temperature in an airtight container.

Ummm can we talk about that melty chocolate?!!!

What cereal treat will I make next?  I don’t know.  But what I do know is that I have a pantry fully stocked with marshmallows, Chex cereal and Rice Krispies hahaha!

XOXO,

Kelly
