Chocolate Cheese Fudge Appetizer Platter

I got your attention with that one, right?!  No your eyes are not playing tricks on you….today’s recipe is an easy chocolate fudge made with the addition of Mahon-Menorca semi-curd cheese added during the fudge making process!  Why cheese?!  Because the cheese adds a creaminess to the fudge, that balances out the sweetness.  And the fudge only requires four ingredients, one bowl, a microwave and 2-minutes!!

I received the Mahon-Menorca cheese used in this post in order to create a unique recipe.  All pictures, recipe, thoughts and opinions are my own.

I used Queso Mahon-Menorca semi-cured artisan cheese in my fudge, which has buttery and salty flavor undertones.  Perfect for fudge because it adds a buttery flavor, but also that much needed slight salt component.  So cheese fudge works y’all…trust me.  Just make sure to GRATE YOUR CHEESE FINELY! You don’t want chunky cheese fudge.

Wine, chocolate and cheese all go so well together, so this fudge would be a wonderful accompaniment on an appetizer tray.  Add crackers, cheese chunks and this fudge of course, with your favorite wine, and you have an appetizer platter that the whole party will be buzzing about!

And I added sprinkles on top of my fudge, which gave a slight texture (crunch) to my fudge, but is also a way to make your fudge party ready, by adding whatever sprinkles match your theme or colors!

Chocolate Cheese Fudge

Serves: 30 Cooking Time: 2-minutes

Ingredients

  • 1 (14-ounce) can sweetened condensed milk
  • 1/4 cup semi-cured Queso Mahon-Menorca cheese, finely grated
  • 2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
  • Sprinkles (optional)

Instructions

1

Line a baking dish with foil and spray bottom and sides with baking spray. I used an 8 x 11.5-inch baking pan, but a 9 x 13-inch pan can be used too. You can use any size pan you want, depending on the thickness you want your fudge. Set prepared pan aside.

2

In a microwave-safe bowl, add the chocolate chips, grated cheese and entire can of sweetened condensed milk. Microwave the ingredients for approximately one minute, stopping every 10-seconds to stir the mixture. Only microwave the ingredients until the chocolate chips have melted. Takes approximately 1-2 minutes to melt the chocolate chips completely.

3

Remove the bowl from the microwave and stir in the vanilla extract. Dump fudge out into prepared pan and smooth until fudge is level and immediately top with sprinkles. Let fudge set and cool. Cover and store fudge in the refrigerator.

APPETIZER PARTY TRAY

  • Cheese Chunks

  • Crackers

  • Fudge or Chocolate

  • Nuts

This fudge is still sweet, and not savory at all (so no….it’s not like eating a chunk of cheese covered in chocolate).  The cheese just adds a creaminess like milk to the fudge.

Can I use another brand of cheese and would it be a processed cheese?

Hi! Yes you can use any brand you like. I recommend a semi curd (semi soft) type of cheese that is mild in flavor.
