Quick and Easy Restaurant Salsa

Quick and easy….this salsa recipe takes just minutes to make and is perfect for any party!  Canned tomatoes, onion, jalepenos, garlic, cilantro, lime juice and a few spices are all you need to whip this salsa recipe together.  And the best part??  Just put all the ingredients in the blender or food processor and the work is done for you.

I used my food processor and it took just a few pulses to get the salsa to my desired consistency….without having to spend forever cutting and chopping up all the ingredients first.  Hence why this is quick and easy salsa!  Plus this salsa tastes even better the next day, so this is a great recipe to make ahead of time.

So I LOVE salsa.  I will put it on ANYTHING.  I love it with grilled chicken, with vegetables, with whole beans, on my salad (instead of salad dressing), etc.  So many more uses for this salsa other than just dip for your chips!  Plus healthy….because it’s all veggies.  But to me salsa is best paired with chips, and chips and salsa is PARTY FOOD!!  This salsa would be a great appetizer to bring to a party…tis the football watching party season! #FootballFood

Print Recipe
Serves: 15 Cooking Time: 0-minutes

Ingredients

  • 28-ounce can whole tomatoes, including juice
  • 1/2 small white onion, cut into chunks
  • 2 jalepeno peppers, seeded and cut into circles
  • 3 cloves garlic chopped (I used 1 tablespoon pre-chopped roasted garlic)
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon granulated sugar
  • 1 handful of cilantro (or more if you REALLY like cilantro)
  • 3 tablespoons lime juice

Instructions

1

Add all of the above ingredients in the order listed to your food processor. Pulse a few times to break up the large pieces, then process until desired consistency is reached.

2

Taste the salsa and add adjust the flavors (cumin, salt, cilantro, garlic, etc) to your desired taste.

3

Transfer salsa to an airtight container and let sit in the refrigerator for at least 2-3 hours. Salsa tastes even better the next day!

Notes

Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator.

XOXO,

Kelly

I LOVE chips and salsa! But I almost always buy the salsa. I think I’ll make this for the Super Bowl instead of the store-bought stuff. I know it’ll be way better!

    ahh this is my favorite kind of salsa (besides pico de gallo). i haven’t seen this the past few times i’ve had mexican food, so i suppose it’s time for me to take matters into my own hands and make it myself (;

I will be trying this. When I make salsas at home, they tend to be closer to pico de gallo, so this will be a nice switch up.
